Duties | This position, working in cooperation with the campus library director, faculty and staff, is responsible for providing reference services, conducting orientation and instruction sessions for patrons, and assisting in the general operations of the library. The work schedule includes day, evening and weekend coverage and may vary depending on the overall workload within the context of the academic calendar. Effective 10/19/2015 actively seeking at least one adjunct faculty librarian for each campus. |
Classification DescriptionList the broad major functions of the position. | - Prepares and presents library instruction for specific classes and orientation sessions at scheduled times. - Provides individualized reference assistance. - Participates in the development of Library and Information Resources Department publications and web pages related to specific subjects. - Assists in the development and evaluation of periodical, reference, electronic, and circulating materials in conjunction with other LIR faculty. - Collaborates with members of the department to provide the best service possible in a consistent manner. |
Minimum Qualifications | Master’s in Library Science from ALA accredited institution Experience working in a library in a professional or a paraprofessional capacity Knowledge of college-level reference service provision and resources Group instruction or presentation experience |

Licensing Requirements | PA Act 15 Clearances As a requirement for this position, you are expected to provide current copies of the following: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check prior to your first day of employment. These must have been obtained within the last 60 months and for the purpose of employment (not volunteer). You may submit current copies of your clearances to the Office of Human Resources at the time an offer of employment is made. |
