Duties

Assist the Bookstore Store Manager in various aspects of the store. Provides quality customer service. Hiring seasonal workers at each of the following campuses: Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job Specific Task List

1. Provide customer service to all customers. Assist customers with their purchases in all departments. Answers customer questions and inquiries. Follows up with Store Manager on issues requiring additional guidance. = 15%

2. Use the cash registers and POS system to process all types of sales and refund transactions. =60%

3. Unpacks merchandise from cartons weighing up to 51 pounds. Verifies quantities and reference numbers from purchase orders.. Reports discrepancies and damages to Store Manager or Buyer. Shelves or displays merchandise in accordance with the store’s shelf system. = 15%

4. Other duties as assigned. = 10%

Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Physical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
