Duties

Responsible for collecting, sorting, scanning, and delivering mail and packages to various locations throughout the college and campuses and/or the post office. Incumbents are responsible for weighing and affixing appropriate postage; receiving and tracking shipments; scheduling equipment maintenance; and ordering supplies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job Specific Task List

1. Picks up, sorts, and distributes mail and packages to various locations. May involve courier delivery to multiple campus sites.

2. Creates and maintains records to assist in tracking inventory, account funds, package delivery, and storage of supplies and equipment.

3. Receives, unloads, checks-in and organizes shipments from warehouse locations; operates various equipment to assist with tasks.

4. Weighs and affixes postage and shipping labels for outgoing mail and parcels.

5. Performs basic office duties such as ordering supplies, operating hand-held devices, and providing customer service.

6. Prepares and reviews reports regarding monthly postage accounting, inventory, and postage accounts.

7. Performs routine maintenance of equipment and schedules equipment repair as needed.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Light Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

Licensing Requirements

Able to obtain Mail Piece Quality Control Certification through USPS.

Valid Driver’s License.
