Adjunct faculty are part-time (classroom or on-line) faculty hired to teach on a semester basis. Develop and deliver Workforce course offerings specific to Construction.

Provides academic instruction and student academic support for assigned classes. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction. Strong candidates must possess good organizational skills, the ability to perform normal teaching duties with minimal supervision, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning. Candidates should demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential while being culturally sensitive and dependable.

Responsible for providing face to face instruction to local organizations and businesses within HACC’s service region in the area of Construction.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of MS Office products plus a HS Vocational Education, post-secondary technical school certificate OR diploma, certificate or AS degree in a construction related discipline: carpentry, electrical, plumbing/HVAC.

5 years experience in residential construction and previous experience training students

Qualifications: Preferred Experience

2 or more years experience in a teaching/training environment

PA Act 15 Clearances

As a requirement for this position, you are expected to provide current copies of the following: DHS Child Abuse History Certificate, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Information, and FBI Federal Criminal Background Check prior to your first day of employment. These must have been obtained within the last 60 months and for the purpose of employment (not volunteer). You may submit current copies of your clearances to the Office of Human Resources at the time an offer of employment is made.
