Responsible for performing advanced technical analysis and support in areas including but not limited to, database reporting, database administration, systems administration, or related hardware/software. Responsibilities may include system design, analysis and modifications (working in conjunction with the identified functional manager); training users; researching new technologies; testing software; hardware administration, installation of appropriate upgrades and patches for O/S and application software residing on related hardware and install of hardware; troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems; maintaining security; and establishing and monitoring backup and recovery procedures; and working with the ‘functional manager’ to resolve complex system issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.

Job Specific Task List

1. Provides and coordinates support for Banner enterprise system, providing technical support to functional users. Writes computer programs and applications according to specifications, employing the use of programming languages and/or software packages available at HACC. Analyzes, reviews and alters programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Supports best practices with data standards and data integrity.

2. Creates standard and complex queries against Oracle and all respective structures. Develop effective and efficient solutions for end user data extracts used for decision making. Coordinates and provides employee training on the use of technology and software systems. Participates in the development of user and operational documentation. Documents implemented applications to facilitate effective support to the related systems.

3. Works on special projects, troubleshoots data issues, and researches new technologies. Builds interfaces with 3rd party solutions.

4. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require: grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
